Moonlighter FabLab is awarded a 2026 capacity-building grant from The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation through its CreARTE program, part of a $720,000 investment for Miami-Dade initiatives. The funding will enable the FabLab to hire a Development Director and enhance its fundraising and impact strategies, fostering growth in the community’s arts sector.

Maker Cities is a new initiative in Miami Beach, funded by the National Science Foundation, aimed at offering advanced manufacturing training and mentorship to 40 adults over two cohorts. Participants will engage in a civic project, gaining hands-on experience in design and technology while reducing barriers to workforce participation through various support resources.
