Summer Camp Scholarships

While talent is everywhere, the opportunities to learn and exercise those skills are not always accessible. To bridge the divide, Moonlighter FabLab is proud to offer Full Scholarships for 5 weeks of Summer S.T.E.A.M. Maker Camp from July 8th – August 9th, 2024 thanks to the generous support of The Children’s Trust and Miami-Dade County Dept. of Cultural Affairs.

The scholarship includes all materials for weekly projects, as well as daily snacks and a nutritious lunch each day, and includes the option of aftercare through 5:30pm each day. Scholarships are needs-based. Children with disabilities and other disenfranchised youth will be prioritized. Parents/Guardians must be able to provide transportation to and from the program site each day for the entire 5 weeks.

El talento está en todas partes, pero las oportunidades para aprender y ejercitar esas habilidades no siempre son accesibles. Para cerrar la brecha, Moonlighter FabLab se enorgullece de ofrecer becas completas para 5 semanas de Summer S.T.E.A.M. Maker Camp del 8 de julio al 9 de agosto de 2024 gracias al generoso apoyo de The Children’s Trust y el Departamento de Asuntos Culturales del Condado de Miami-Dade.

La beca incluye todos los materiales para los proyectos semanales, así como refrigerios diarios y un almuerzo nutritivo todos los días, e incluye la opción de cuidado posterior hasta las 5:30 p. m. todos los días. Las becas se basan en las necesidades. Se dará prioridad a los niños con discapacidades y otros jóvenes privados de sus derechos. Los padres/tutores deben poder proporcionar transporte hacia y desde el sitio del programa todos los días durante las 5 semanas completas.

  • Must demonstrate financial need | Debe demostrar necesidad financiera
  • Must attend each day for 5 consecutive weeks | Debe asistir todos los días durante 5 semanas consecutivas.
  • Must have adequate transportation to and from the program site | Debe tener transporte adecuado hacia y desde el sitio del programa.
  • Priority acceptance for CWD, BIPOC, and other disenfranchised youth | Aceptación prioritaria para niños con discapacidades, y jóvenes de minorías.
  • Demonstrates an interest in STEAM | Demuestra interés en STEAM

The 2024 Summer S.T.E.A.M. Maker Camp is funded in part by The Children’s Trust.  The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County. With the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
